Skill development training will be provided to youth under the collaboration between govt and Yamaha India

New Delhi, Sep 22 (KNN) To make youth of the state employable, Jharkhand Skills Development Mission Society and India Yamaha Motors entered into an agreement to provide skill development training to youths of the State.

The India Yamaha Motors under the agreement will identify 12th passed and ITI passed youths who would be given two years of training in maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and related trades.

The training program will be held at the company's units located at Surajpur, Faridabad and Chennai.

This training program will create future Shop Floor leaders equipped with Japanese style of manufacturing and working methods. The two-year training program will make these youths employable and it will improve their livelihood and standard of living.

They can pursue Diploma in Engineering and Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration after the completion of the training. The entire expenses for the education program will be borne by Yamaha.

Trainees would be provided with stipends, accommodation during the training period and given certificates along with job opportunities into related fields said, Ravi Ranjan, Director of the Skill Development Mission.

Chief Minister Raghubar Das who was also present at the occasion said, there was no shortage of talent in Jharkhand.

He added, “People here just need an opportunity. The State Government is working rapidly in the direction of giving employment to youths through skill development. Famous companies like Yamaha Motor have also trusted the youth of Jharkhand which is a good sign.”

He added further that considering the importance of skill development, the State government has allocated budget of Rs 700 crores this year.

The Chief Minister also request Yamaha India officials to set up a motorcycle manufacturing unit in the State and assured them to make available required raw materials as well as human resources locally which are available in abundance. He also referred to Jharkhand’s historic presence in the field of industries.

Yamaha Motors’ Yukihiko Tada said that in future, the company will try to set up a manufacturing unit in Jharkhand. “Jharkhand's automobile policy is quite good. This will prove to be beneficial for the automobile industry.”

“Manufacturing industry is facing huge shortage of skilled workforce and this gap has to be addressed through these collaborations. We, as an industry have to identify both the challenges & the opportunities and take a step further in meeting the requirements of the industry. Yamaha remains committed in making a significant contribution in the National Skill Development Mission and will continue to execute programs which benefit the Indian youth and the manufacturing industry at large,” he said.

Jharkhand is the 3rd State with which IYM has signed MoU on skill development and training. Prior to this, the company has signed MoUs with Uttar Pradesh and Bihar governments in 2017.
