Ahmedabad, Jul 3 (KNN)  The Gujarat Government will be setting up skill upgradation centres across the BJP ruled state with the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development being given the charge of being the nodal agency.

"Industries and Mines Department, Government of Gujarat has evolved a scheme to set up skill upgradation centres (extension training centres) across the state," said the Industries Commissionerate of the state in a press notification.

The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) has been declared as the nodal institute for scheme.

In this context, the Industries Commissionerate has invited bids from national level training institutions who will be training partners to run industry responsive, readily employable skill development programme in the proposed skill upgradation centres.

With a vision to develop industry responsive and readily employable, skilled manpower, at various levels, focusing on local resources, CED has a target to enhance trained manpower pool by 2 lakhs per year, from 2014 onwards.  (KNN/ES)
