Small restaurant owners will not be eligible for HUDA bids in Gurgaon, Faridabad

Gurgaon, Jan 18 (KNN) The Haryana government has announced plans  to lease out its restaurant premises  in Gurgaon and Faridabad,  but the high turnover criteria will filter out small restaurant owners from bidding for the same. 

The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has invited bids to leasing out restaurant building located in Sector 29 of City Centre, Gurgaon, on licence hold basis for the period of upto three years. However, as per the their eligibility criteria, the applicant should have annual turnover from the restaurant business of Rs 30 crore each during last three years ending on March 31, 2013 and shall have net worth of Rs 10 crore as on March 31, 2013.

 HUDA wants experienced professionals in running restaurant, fast food joints, related ventures with chain of restaurants to take the building on lease.Gurgaon is a hub of small and medium restaurants, food joints and hotels as well as big hotels due to increasing industrialization and large corporate. The eligibility criterion has left the small restaurants owners out of bidding process.

The same is the situation in Faridabad. For a restaurant lease, the turnover criteria has been fixed at Rs 15 crore each for the last three years and Rs 10 crore net worth. (KNN Bureau/SD)
