New Delhi, Dec 28 (KNN) With a focus on how to access the international market, a special convention on the micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSME) will be held during the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2019.

This was said by Vice chairman and Managing Director of Gujarat Industries Development Corporation (GIDC), D Thara.

Addressing a press conference about the MSME convention, Thara said that during the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit (VGGIS) 2019, there will be a special two-day convention on MSME which will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister on January 19.

Informing the media, Thara added "There are lots of issues with the development of MSMEs, but the main is how to access the market. 

There are lots of big companies and small companies coming to Gujarat and this 2 day convention will provide a platform to them, she added. 

Besides,  there will be a Vendor Development Programme during the convention which will provide the visiting international chamber of commerce a glimpse of the manufacturing capabilities of our MSMES, she added. 

"The programme is organized by the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industries (GCCI) where Gujarat government will act as as facilitator," said Thara. 

Describing the spirit behind such event, Thara said "We are looking at developing supply chains to bigger companies. When such big companies are here, the smaller units should gain from them.

The MSMEs should develop joint ventures with them and develop their capabilities, she added. 

She further informed that the Chamber of commerce and MSME associations from as many as 40 different nations and 30 from across the nation will take part in the convention.

Representatives of associations from Taiwan, Bangladesh, Japan, Pakistan and many more countries will talk about their success stories, about how they achieved global clients by operating from small geographical areas.

Experts from different institutions will participate in the convention and they will address queries from participants, along with motivating them to access the market, she added.
