Spl package in Rajasthan for the textile industry

Jaipur, July 4 (KNN) In order to boost the state’s textile sector, the Rajasthan government will adopt a new policy to bring Rs 10,000 cr investment and create 50,000 jobs in the sector.

The state cabinet has decided to provide a special customised package for the development of the textile industry.

The move aims at skill development, manufacture and export promotion and ensures a competitive advantage.

With the rollout of the special package, an investment of Rs 10,000 crore over the next seven years is expected in the state along with employment opportunities for about 50,000 people.

The cabinet also approved the establishment of a Rajasthan Cooperative Finance and Development Corporation. The state government would provide a share capital of Rs 100 crore to increase credit availability in rural areas.

The package for the textile industry will be applicable to both new as well as existing enterprises which are making investment for modernisation, expansion and diversification of sick units.

The government has promised sops including interest-waiver, subsidy and VAT reimbursement to the textile industry.

The cabinet meeting in Jaipur at the Chief Minister's Office also gave an in-principle approval for setting up a petroleum university to make available manpower and technical know-how in view of the upcoming refinery and petro-chemical complex at Pachpadra in Barmer. (KNN)
