Salem, Oct 8 (KNN) A state level handloom exhibition for the festive season is underway at the Corporation multi-purpose hall in Salem, Tamil Nadu.

The exhibition was inaugurated by  District Collector S. Karmegam on Friday.

Speaking at the occasion, Karmegam said that such exhibitions were being conducted at important locations across the State to sell products manufactured by the handloom weavers societies with the financial assistance of the Union Government.

As per reports, Over 60 kiosks displaying handloom products, including silk, soft silk saris etc will be setup at the exhibition.

A 20 per cent discount will be offered on all handloom varieties and the sales target has been fixed at Rs 50 lakh. 

District Revenue Officer P. Menaha and officials took part in the inaugural ceremony.

The handloom exhibition will conclude on October 21, 2022.  (KNN Bureau)
