State should achieve numero uno position in MSME sector: MP CM

Bhopal, Aug 1 (KNN) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the state should achieve numero uno position in the Micro, Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (MSME) sector as well.

The Chief Minister said this while reviewing the works being carried out in the State in the MSME sector under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Package through video conferencing from Chirayu Hospital on Friday.

''The pace of this work is slow in Madhya Pradesh at present. Under the Atmanirbhar Package, an amount of Rs 21 thousand crore has already been given to the neighbouring State Uttar Pradesh for MSME sector, whereas Madhya Pradesh has only received about Rs 2,000 crore till now,'' he said.

''The pace of the work should be accelerated by regular monitoring with the banks by the departments concerned,'' he added.

To get a better understanding why the pace is slow in the state, Chouhan directed that the progress of works being done by other states in the MSME sector under the Atmanirbhar Package should be reviewed.

Chouhan also asked officials concerned to ensure that no unnecessary stamp duty should be charged from beneficiaries.

''A letter should be sent immediately to the Union Finance Minister in case of any difficulty being faced in implementation of the plan or if things are not clear,'' Chouhan said.

He also said that a provision has been made under the package, announced by the Centre that now there is no need for MSME for global tender for loan up to Rs 200 crore. He directed the department concerned that formalities should be completed within the next one week in this regard.

When being informed that some cases are pending with the banks for more than 45 days period, Chouhan said that a provision has been under the package for payment against the loan sanctioned by the banks within 45 days to MSMEs.

''It should be ensured that payment against loan should be made within 45 days,'' he instructed.

The Minister for MSME Omprakash Saklecha, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Additional Chief Secretary Manoj Shrivastava, Principal Secretary Manoj Govil and Principal Secretary Deepali Rastogi were present at the video conference.
