Tamil Nadu govt to set up 10 Export guidance centres across State

Karur, Sept 5 (KNN) The government of Tamil Nadu would establish 10 export guidance centres in the state including Karur district, said the MSME Minister T.M. Anbarasan.

The aim of these centres are to boost the share of exports from Tamil Nadu, which currently stood at 9.25 per cent.

He and Electricity Minister V. Senthil Balaji last week visited a stall at the MSME exhibition in Karur.

The export guidance centres would come up in Tiruppur, Madurai, Ambur, Thoothukudi, Pollachi, Kancheepuram, Chennai, Coimbatore and Hosur, the MSME minister said during the MSME conference organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The centres would provide export opportunities and demands for various products in foreign countries.

It intends to help exporters, traders and industrialists and also give them input about the availability of raw materials from foreign countries.

Minister Balaji recognised the role played by the MSMEs in the industrial progress of Tamil Nadu.

Collector T. Prabhu Shankar; B. Maheswari, Special Secretary, MSME; Sathiyagam Arya, CII Tamil Nadu State Council president; Ramesh Babu, Managing Directory and several other officials were present at the occasion.  (KNN Bureau)
