CII Coimbatore Launches Strategy Cell

Coimbatore, Nov 23 (KNN) The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Coimbatore, has launched a dedicated Strategy Cell to empower local industries with expert mentorship, aiming to scale their operations and compete on a global platform.

G. Radhakrishnan, Chairman of CII-Coimbatore, revealed that the six-member Strategy Cell will collaborate with selected industries over a period of six to twelve months. 

During this time, the team will engage closely with business owners to understand their ambitions and plans, document them, and provide tailored guidance to achieve sustainable growth.

The initiative, launched in May 2024, has already shortlisted seven industries for its first phase. These industries, primarily fr0m the manufacturing sector, were carefully selected over the past six months. 

Mentorship activities will commence immediately, with each industry paired with a strategy expert to chart medium- and long-term growth plans.

Radhakrishnan emphasised that the Strategy Cell’s members collectively bring over 200 hours of professional experience to the table. 

Importantly, their services are provided free of charge to the selected industries, offering a valuable opportunity for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that often lack the resources to access high-level strategic consulting.

“The MSMEs frequently face resource constraints in employing mentors who can help them make informed strategic decisions,” said Radhakrishnan. “This initiative bridges that gap, equipping them with the tools and guidance needed to scale and sustain their growth.”

The Cell’s initial focus will be on fostering sustainable growth in the manufacturing sector, with an eye on creating globally competitive enterprises. This aligns with CII Coimbatore's broader vision of nurturing local industries into global leaders.

By providing hands-on mentorship, the Strategy Cell aims to not only enhance individual businesses but also contribute to the region's industrial growth and economic development. 

With this novel initiative, CII Coimbatore is setting a benchmark in industry mentorship and capacity-building.

This pioneering initiative underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in driving industrial growth, especially for small and medium enterprises striving to make their mark globally.
