Chennai, Jan 19 (KNN) Footwear giant Pou Chen Corporation is considering to set up a new manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu which is likely to attract an investment of over Rs 500 crore.

“It will be a mega project for sports shoe manufacturing,” reported businessline.

Currently the Taiwan-based footwear major is in advanced stages of finalising the location for the unit.

The 54 year old company has manufacturing units and retailing sites in Taiwan, China, Indonesia, Vietnam, the United States, and Mexico.

It caters to Nike, Adidas, Puma and several other global brands.

According to businessline, Pou Chen is looking for a 300-400 acre site to set up the manufacturing plant.

The State government has pitched Tiruchii, Viluppuram and the port city of Thoothukudi as some of the possible locations.  (KNN Bureau)
