Solar Skill Centres of Excellence Launched In Tirunelveli and Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu

Chennai, Oct 22 (KNN) Tata Power, through its skilling arm Tata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI), has inaugurated two Solar Skill Centres of Excellence (SCoE) in Tirunelveli and Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu, to develop a certified workforce for the state’s expanding renewable energy sector.

Established in partnership with the Directorate of Employment & Training (DET), Government of Tamil Nadu, the centres will offer practical, industry-aligned training in solar installation and maintenance, energy efficiency, and electrical safety. 

It will also provide structured career pathways for installers, technicians, supervisors, and vendor-entrepreneurs, the company said in a release, according to BL.

The programmes will be aligned with national standards and offered under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s PM: Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, the company stated. 

Participants will earn nationally recognised certifications, boosting their employability and enabling them to play an active role in India’s green energy transition, it added.
