Tamil Nadu cabinet approves 10 projects worth Rs 6K crore

Chennai, July 24 (KNN) The Tamil Nadu government on Saturday approved 10 projects with a total investment commitment of around Rs 6,000 crore.

The state cabinet meeting which was chaired by Chief Minister MK Stalin cleared these projects ahead of the forthcoming global investors meet scheduled for January 2024.

The approved projects are expected to provide employment opportunities for around 27,000 people in state.

“Of the 10 approved projects, two are electrical vehicle projects and two more are for establishing global capability centres under R and D policy. While three are regular industrial sector projects, one is in the electronics sector. Besides, two more projects are coming up in the textile industry. One of them is in the technical textiles sector,” the sources said.

According to reports, Godrej Consumer Products is expected to set up one of the biggest projects in the state. They are expected to set up a plant in Tamil Nadu. The factory of Salcomp, which provides chargers for Apple phones, will be expanding in the state too. Additionally, it is known that two projects, one from Pfizer and another from French company Schneider, were also approved.  (KNN Bureau)
