TN govt recognises Green Co rating as national certification for MSMEs to avail subsidy
Coimbatore, Dec 31 (KNN) The Tamil Nadu government has recognised the Green Co rating as a national-level certification which allows MSMEs to get incentives under Q-Cert scheme.
The approval was given by the Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce, reported The Hindu.
The objective of the scheme is to encourage MSMEs acquire quality standards/certifications for process and products and the government reimbursed payments made for consultancy and certification agencies towards acquiring such quality certification subject to a ceiling of Rs 2 lakh for national-level certification and Rs 10 lakh for international-level certification.
An appeal was raised by the Dyers Association of Tiruppur (DAT) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for this recognition.
“The textile processing units in Tiruppur were implementing zero liquid discharge,” said B. Murugaboopathi, chief executive officer of DAT.
To certify the processing as green there were several factors apart from this.
A set of criteria to certify the dyeing process at a unit as green has been listed in the Green Co rating.
Some of the units in Tiruppur evinced interest in getting the certification but sought government support. (KNN Bureau)
