Technology based 'Centre for Innovation and Incubation' established at CTTC, Bhubaneswar

New Delhi, Jan 13 (KNN) Centre for Innovation and Incubation (CII) has been established at Central Tool Room & Training Centre, Bhubaneswar.

The centre was formally inaugurated by L.N. Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary, MSME Department, Government of Odisha and has been approved by DC-MSME, Government of India as a host institute for business incubation and recognized as a ‘Startup Facilitation Centre’ by MSME Department, Government of Odisha.

The centre will provide the complete solution and hand holding support to the young innovators and start up entrepreneur’s right from idea to commercialization, such as idea screening, intellectual property rights evaluation and filing for registration, technology /product development, proto type development, mentorship, techno legal assistance for setting up units, creating scope for technology licensing and commercialization etc.

It will work as per the startup policy guide line of Government of India and Government of Odisha.

More than 100 participants including professional, startups, entrepreneurs, industry association members attended the event.

Being identified by Ministry of MSME as one among five technology centers, the centre will receive technical support from GIZ (Germany) for capacity building, facility planning, exposure visit and engaging technical experts as per requirement under bilateral cooperation programme in order to make it a startup hub in the state of Odisha.

Centre for Innovation and Incubation at CTTC is going to emerge as a leading startup hub in the region having the state of the art facilities and place for converting dreams into reality to the young innovative youth and startup MSMEs in the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Gupta advised CTTC to become sector specific and may focus on aerospace, agriculture, engineering and medical device etc, as per their domain expertise.

He urged CTTC-CII to learn from other leading TBIs experiences/modus operand and should be established as one of the vibrant incubation Centre in the Country within a short time.

It should operate in mission mode for achieving targets to create more Start up entrepreneurs and create an echo system in the state, he added.

Further, he mentioned that the availability of abundant talent in Odisha having tremendous opportunity to accelerate the innovation and creating startup entrepreneurs in the state, which will further take forward the steps ahead in the journey of startup excellence as best performer in the country.
