Telangana Govt Sets Up Taskforce and MSME Wing to Boost MSME Policy Implementation
Telangana, Sep 19 (KNN) In a bid to ensure the effective implementation of its newly unveiled MSME (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises) policy, the Telangana government has announced the formation of a special steering committee and a dedicated MSME wing.
This move is aimed at providing consistent support, tracking progress, and addressing challenges faced by MSMEs in the state.
The steering committee, led by Telangana’s Industries Minister, will play a crucial role in monitoring the delivery of the policy, setting strategic directions, and tabling its progress before the Assembly.
Comprising key officials such as the Industries Principal Secretary, Industries Commissioner, MSME and Retail Director, and representatives from various industry associations, this high-level taskforce will also be chaired by a prominent industry leader from Telangana.
The committee will have no more than nine members, according to Telangana’s Industries and IT Minister, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, who shared details during an industry interaction hosted by CII Telangana.
Telangana Industries and IT Special Chief Secretary, Jayesh Ranjan, highlighted that the committee will primarily include members from industry associations, ensuring that stakeholders directly impacted by the MSME policy are involved in shaping its course.
In addition to the steering committee, a dedicated MSME wing will be established under the Commissioner of Industries. This wing will operate 24x7, providing round-the-clock support to MSMEs. It will consist of a Joint Director of Industries, two Assistant Directors, and four Industrial Promotion Officers.
A digital grievance redressal system will be introduced, enabling MSMEs to report issues directly. Officers from the MSME wing will regularly address and resolve these concerns.
The MSME wing will also develop a dashboard that tracks key metrics such as the number of queries received, issues resolved, and ongoing challenges. By conducting periodic industry feedback and identifying systemic bottlenecks, the wing will fine-tune policy implementation.
Key state agencies, including the Telangana Industrial Development Corporation (TGIDC) and Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC), will collaborate on improving MSME infrastructure.
Public-private partnerships (PPP) will be explored to create industrial parks, testing centers, and warehousing facilities. The government also plans to engage third-party experts to develop advanced digital solutions, further boosting the MSME ecosystem in the state.
