Hyderabad, Oct 12 (KNN) A group of successful micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) who by birth hailed from Andhra Pradesh but are now a part of Telangana are leaving no stone unturned to set up a MSME Cluster in Vijayawada.

This, they said, is just a small initiative to contribute towards the development of their motherland.

Talking to KNN, A.Anil Babu, General Secretary, Amaravathi Industries Association said, “There is a group of 75 MSMEs who come from Andhra Pradesh but are now a part of Telangana. This is just a small initiative to invest in our motherland.”

The 75 entrepreneurs are planning to set up a MSME Cluster in Vijayawada for which the land has been allotted to them by the government. The total investment estimated for the cluster is Rs 201.50 crore and the estimated turnover in first year is Rs 188.20 crore.

The cluster will mainly be of small and medium manufacturing units. There are some capital goods manufacturing units and some aerospace component manufacturing units in the cluster.

The total number of direct employment to be generated through the cluster is approximately 2700 while the projection of indirect employment is yet to be made, Anil Babu said.

“Land has been allotted to us by the government. Apart from this there is no other special incentive being given by the government to them. We have to put in our efforts for skill development, infrastructure improvement and more to set up the cluster,” he added.

Talking about the ease of doing business environment in AP, Anil Babu said lot needs to be done to develop the resources and infrastructure. There is also a need for skill development of youth.

He said labour shortage is another problem in the region.

“This entire investment plan is a huge risk that we are taking,” the entrepreneur added. (KNN Bureau)
