Telangana to launch State-specific space tech policy

Hyderabad, April 18 (KNN) With an aim to establish Telangana as a globally recognised one-stop destination for space technology, the state government will be launching a State-specific space tech framework.

The launch event will be hosted on Metaverse marking it as the first -ever official event to take place on the virtual reality platform.

IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao, NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant, ISRO chairman Somanath S and IN-SPACe chairman Pawan Goenka would be present at the event.

Through this development the state government’s focus is to enhance its innovation ecosystem to provide holistic support to the industry and be key to the national growth of the sector.

The Telangana government will also facilitate grants, suitable incentives and infrastructure support to promote research and development to boost space tech innovation.

The downstream space tech applications have the potential to directly impact citizens’ life and so the government would support pilots and proof-of-concept with the various government departments. 

It will also initiate a space tech research programme in partnership with the industry, academia, and other government agencies to catalyse innovation. (KNN Bureau)
