Thiruvananthapuram Jute fair concludes tomorrow
Thiruvananthapuram, June 23 (KNN) The National Jute Board has organised an exhibition-cum-sale in Vazhuthacaud to highlight the jute products as an alternative material to plastics.
The exhibition has been organised at the Sree Moolam Club and will conclude tomorrow.
It aims to provide jute entrepreneurs with a platform to introduce their products in the market.
Around 22 stalls have been setup by entrepreneurs from across the country.
Speaking on the occasion, R P Sreenivas, secretary of South Indian Jute Association said “People have started liking eco-friendly lifestyles, especially value-added products of jute. This is the best material to replace plastic as it is a long-lasting one.”
“Initially, the demand for jute products was comparatively low. It increased when the entrepreneurs presented their products in new appearance and style. This expo highlights the diversities and scope of jute products,” he added.
According to the entrepreneurs who have setup their stalls at the event, the previous exhibitions conducted at various places in the country have gained them a lot of business. (KNN Bureau)
