TN govt partners with TaskUs to setup a new technology centre in Chennai

Chennai, July 12 (KNN) The Tamil Nadu government has agreed to establish a new Technology Center of Excellence in Chennai with the support of TaskUs.

The MoU signing ceremony at Taj Coromandel was presided over by Chief Minister Mr. M.K. Stalin. TaskUs was represented by Chief Finance Officer Balaji Sekar and Senior Vice President of Operations Sapna Bhambani, while the state government was represented by Pooja Kulkarni, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Guidance, Tamil Nadu.

Under this partnership, the state government will provide all the necessary infrastructural and regulatory facilitation support, whereas the TaskUs project will employ around 150 people to start with in the new facility.

The government of Tamil Nadu is delighted that TaskUs has chosen Chennai as the location for adding technology and back-office capabilities to support their growth in India and worldwide. "TaskUs is among the fastest-growing companies in its industry and will play an important role in bringing a number of jobs across different functions to the city and state," said Tamil Nadu Industries Minister Thangam Thennarasu.

TaskUs currently has three sites in India. It launched its first site in Indore in 2019.Since then the company has grown to 6,000 employees as of December 2021, making India the fastest-growing location in TaskUs’ history.  (KNN Bureau)
