TN govt to introduce core banking at Tamil Nadu Industrial Co-operative Bank

Chennai, Jul 12 (KNN) In order to increase financial inclusion in the MSME sector, the Tamil Nadu government is planning to introduce core banking solutions at the Tamil Nadu Industrial Co-operative Bank.
 
The state government yesterday announced several schemes to enhance infrastructure at the industrial estates across the State.
 
The core banking solution at the not-for-profit bank aims to give MSMEs flexibility in terms of handling finance.
 
The exercise is going to cost Rs 1.9 crore which will be taken from the bank’s fund. The bank will also fund three new buildings, each at a cost of Rs 30 crore, for its branches at Sathur, Sivakasi and Ambattur, reports media.
 
The announcements were made in the Assembly on Friday during demand for grants to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department by Rural Industries and Labour Minister P Mohan.
 
The Minister also announced infrastructure projects for industrial estates which includes works to the tune of Rs 12.5 crore for building roads, drinking water facilities, drainage and street lamps at the new industrial estate at Periyanasalur in Cuddalore district, Rs 10 lakh for the construction of a workshop at the co-operative society for brass article manufacturers at Nachiyar Koil in Thanjavur district, Rs 17 lakh for laying bitumen roads at the Madurai Automobile co-operative Society, setting up of first aid centres at a cost of  Rs 12.5 lakh at the Kappalur Industrial Estate in Madurai district and the Kurichi Industrial Estate in Coimbatore.
 
The other announcements were of - setting up of an exhibition and an information centre at the Government Institute of Ceramic Technology at Vriddhachalam for which Rs 6.15 lakh has been set aside; improvement of basic amenities at the Vikram Sarabhai Instronic Estate in Thiruvanmiyur for which Rs 10 lakh has been set aside.
 
Steps will also be taken to upgrade laboratories — Sagoserve for Rs 10 lakh, Rs 17 lakh for the Central Electrical Testing Laboratory at Kakkalur Industrial Estate in Thiruvallur and a new Liquid Chromatography machine in the city, the Minister announced. (KNN Bureau)
