TN holds civil supplies grievance redressal camps

Chennai, Dec 12 (KNN)    In a bid to address complaints of the general public with regard to family cards, fair price shops and unfair practices, the Tamil Nadu government has organised civil supplies grievance redressal camps at various locations in the city here.

The camps will be held across the city at 16 locations on December-13 beginning at 10 AM, an official release said.

“Civil Supplies Grievances Redressal Camps are being held in Chennai city every month for the redressal of public grievances regarding changes in the family cards, deficiencies in the functioning of Fair Price Shops or PDS commodities supplied or regarding unfair trade practices or deficiencies in the goods sold by the private sector in the market,” it said.

During the camps, officials from Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department, Co-operative Department and Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation would be present to listen to problems.

General public belonging to Fair Price Shops around the location where the camps are located as well as cardholders can avail the opportunity to get their grievances redressed.
Speedy action will be taken on the petitions received during this meeting, it said.   (KNN/ES)
