Traders’ welcome lockdown extension by Delhi Govt

New Delhi, Apr 26 (KNN) The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has welcomed the extension of lockdown in the national capital by the Delhi Government.

CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal said that fast increasing COVID cases in Delhi and non - availability of medical facilities including beds in Hospitals, acute shortage of oxygen, non-availability of required medicines and in all highly crippled medical structure in Delhi necessitated extension of lockdown.

''Khandelwal said that Traders across Delhi were most willingly demanding lockdown in spite of the fact they will be the worst sufferers of Lockdown but in view of the present critical COVID crisis, a lockdown was inevitable,'' he said on Sunday.

He said that closure of markets will certainly put a curb on rise in COVID numbers whereas on the other hand it will give the government a little more time to restore medical facilities in Delhi.

''We must remember at this juncture that every life of Indian matters whoever it is. We must rise and safeguard our beloved nation that is crying right now and bring back hopes. The traders stand in solidarity with you and are geared up to join hands with the Government for any responsibility that we are capable of,'' Khandelwal added.
