New Delhi, Jun 26 (KNN) Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Minister Krishan Pal Gujjar has requested Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu to grant Rs 1,000 crore from the National Capital Region Planning Board Fund for improving civic facilities in Faridabad which is a part of NCR.

He requested the minister for improvement of sewerage, roads and drinking water facilities in Faridabad which are in bad condition.  Further, huge water logging has been reported in the region during rains.

Gujjar has also asked Naidu to connect Gurgaon to Faridabad with metro network as people of the area commute between these two places very frequently and there is no direct metro connectivity.  He has requested him to extend the Metro up to Palwal which falls in Faridabad Parliamentary Constituency.

In addition, he has asked for special funds to the NCR Planning Board for pollution control measures towards cleaning Yamuna River and also Agra and Gurgaon canals. (KNN/ST)
