Tripura joins the march towards GST, passes the state GST bill

New Delhi, May 25 (KNN) The north-eastern state Tripura passed the State GST Bill during the first day of the three day special assembly session.

The bill was staged by the Finance Minister of the State Bhanulal Saha and the first day of the planned three day session.

The State GST Bill god nod from the assembly, without any opposition from any of the members present in the house.

Earlier this week, there were speculations over the smooth passing of this bill in the Tripura state assemble and ratification and discussions were expected, however such a case didn’t arise.

It was also being expected that there will be discussions and recommendations will be proposed by the business advisory committee, but with the state passing it unanimously, Tripura has joined the list of the states that have approved the new One Nation One Tax policy.

The GST is in its final stage with almost a month left in the roll out. The GST council recently held its final meeting in which tax slabs on various goods and services were discussed and finalised.
