UHBVN surcharge waiver scheme brings relief to MSMEs in Haryana

New Delhi, 23 Oct (KNN) The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) has introduced surcharge waiver scheme by the sum amounts or in installmnents, which is valid till Novemeber 30, 2021.

Customers will be able to take a new connection by paying the entire amount of their billing amount either as a lump. The announcement regarding the launch of this scheme was made by the Haryana Power Minister Ranjit Singh.

Power Minister Singh said that the income of the common people had been affected due to the first and second wave of Covid, hence, the UHBVN to ease the suffering of the people has introduced this scheme to provide concessions to consumers. This scheme will benefit those customers of domestic, agricultural, HT and LT (industrial and non-domestic) categories, and whose electricity connections were cut till 30 June due to non-payment of bills on time.

Speaking with KNN, Rakesh Chhabra, Managing Partner at Sonipat based Choudhary Enterprises, said "This scheme is benefical for the MSMEs in aspect of power which is pivotal to production, and will allow small businesses to steadily recover which were badly hit during the second wave."

The scheme can be availed by depositing only 25% of their original billing amount while the balance amount can be paid in six installments.

In rural areas, this scheme will be applicable only to those customers of those villages in which the Mhara Gaon Jagmag Gaon Yojana is applicable or where the permission regarding the implementation of the scheme has been provided by the panchayats.
