UK offers help to Karnataka in improving 'Ease of Doing Business'

Bengaluru, Oct 15 (KNN) To improve the ease of doing business in Karnataka, the United Kingdom has offered its expertise to the State and released an exclusive report on ‘Ease of Doing Business in Karnataka’.
 
 UK stands at the 8th position in the World Bank Ease of Doing Business rankings.
 
Releasing a report on ‘Ease of Doing Business in Karnataka’, here on Wednesday, British Deputy High Commissioner Ian Felton said the UK can help the State in improving its status of doing business.
 
He mentioned that innovation ecosystems of UK and Karnataka can work better together specifically on innovation policy, business acceleration, academia-industry links and commercialisation of research and development.
 
Incidentally, as per the report on Ease of Doing Business status in the States, prepared by DIPP, Karnataka achieved a score of 48.5 per cent below states like Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Orissa.
 
R V Deshpande, Minister for Large and Medium Industries & Tourism, Karnataka, appreciated the offer of the U K High Commission and assured that the State will work in this line.
 
He also mentioned that the Karnataka Government is proactively working on reform measures and closer UK-Karnataka ties in innovation and technology collaboration will propel both regions to greater heights. (KNN/DB)
