UNESCO delegation meets AP CM to discuss on upcoming Gaming & Digital Learning Hub

Amaravathi, July 5 (KNN) A delegation of officials from UNESCO met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat on Wednesday to discuss details of upcoming Gaming and Digital Learning Hub at Vishakhapatnam.

The zone dubbed as “Intelligent Hub” will be the first of its kind in the country and will focus primarily on Edutech Gaming.

Gaming industry giants such as Microsoft, UB Soft and Samsung will be setting up their centres of development at this Intelligent Hub.

Gaming is one of the biggest income generating industries in the world and in the coming 10 years, nearly 50,000 jobs will be created directly because of this upcoming zone in Visakhapatnam.

The Intelligent Hub will be spread over an area of 100 acres and will be well equipped to handle almost 10% of the country’s gaming demands.

A Research &Development centre will also be coming up shortly which will facilitate the development of the latest designs and technologies in the gaming industry.

To address the learning disabilities such as dyslexia and increasing dropout rates, a learning centre will also be set up near the Intelligent Hub which will provide state of the art facilities for the children.

The zone will also see incubation centres and venture funds being established which will aid the start ups immensely.

“I am pleased with this development as this will definitely aid in making Andhra Pradesh a knowledge economy. The technology and innovations coming out of this hub must be dynamic so that they can be used for other spheres also”, said the Chief Minister.

Principal Secretary, G. Sai Prasad, APEDB, CEO, J. Krishna Kishore and UNESCO MGEP members, Dr. Anantha Duraiappah, Dr. Nandini Chatterjee, Ms. Archana Chaudhary, Mr. Nat Malupillai and Dr. Manoj Singh attended the meeting. (KNN/ MSRao)
