Delay in permission to establish/operate by J&K Pollution Control Deptt irks industries

Jammu, June 5 (KNN) Industries in Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) are suffering due to non-issuance of consent to establish/operate for orange/red category by J&K Pollution Control Committee.

BBIA has requested Governor Manoj Sinha for his intervention into the matter for the Delegation of Power to Member Secretary J&K Pollution Control Committee for the clearance of pending files of Industrial Units till the appointment of New Chairman Pollution Control Committee.

Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) on Monday held an urgent meeting to discuss this matter under the chairmanship of President Lalit Mahajan.

The matter has already brought into the notice of Principal Secretary Forest Department but nothing has been done so far resulting the Unit Holders are suffering very badly, said the association.

The files are pending since 1 May 2023 due to vacant post of Chairman as the previous Chairman retired on 30 April 2023.

Due to this, registration of the prospective investors under the NCSS 2021 is pending and without the valid CTE it is not possible for the unit holders to apply for the registration on the portal.

Tarun Singla Sr. Vice President, Ajay Langer Vice President, Viraaj Malhotra General Secretary, Rajesh Jain Secretary and Vivek Singhal Treasurer BBIA Association and other members of Association were also present.

During discussion the member present in the meeting raised serious concern in respect of piling of files in the Office of Chairman Pollution Control Committee for the issuance of consent to establish/operate for the orange/ red category to the industrial unit.  (KNN Bureau)
