Delhi Govt Launches Industry Partnership Initiative For ITI Students
New Delhi, May 31 (KNN) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced a new initiative on Friday aimed at establishing direct connections between youth and industry through the state's Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs).
The program involves three-year memorandums of understanding with four industry partners, designed to provide comprehensive technical education, vocational training, hands-on experience with modern equipment, and enhanced employment prospects.
During the launch ceremony, Chief Minister Gupta highlighted the critical role of Delhi's youth in national development.
She emphasised the importance of skill-based training over traditional degree programs, stating that students must be equipped with practical capabilities to succeed in both employment and entrepreneurial ventures.
The government has entered into partnerships with Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL), Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL), Quest Alliance, and Hettich Power Wood Working Institute (HPWWI).
These collaborations are intended to deliver industry-standard training directly to students across various ITIs throughout Delhi.
Under the partnership agreement, HPWWI will provide comprehensive technical training in the Wood Working Technician Trade, previously known as Carpenter Trade, at ITI facilities in Jail Road and Nand Nagri.
The training program will be offered at no cost to students and will include access to specialised tools, equipment, instructor training, and practical work experience.
SMIPL will establish an advanced training center at ITI Jahangirpuri, focusing on trades including two-wheeler repair, welding, and robotics.
The company will also develop necessary infrastructure as part of its corporate social responsibility commitments.
Quest Alliance will contribute training programs in career awareness, employability skills, and soft skills development.
The organisation will place particular emphasis on encouraging female students to pursue non-traditional trades such as welding and fitting, addressing gender representation in technical fields.
