MSME Ministry Conducts Inaugural Hospitality Management Program In Pahalgam
Pahalgam, Aug 12 (KNN) The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Field Office Branch in Srinagar has successfully concluded its first Management Development Program focused on customer handling and effective communication.
The week-long initiative, held from August 6-10, 2024, at Townhall Pahalgam, was organised in collaboration with the Pahalgam Development Authority and the Hoteliers Association Pahalgam.
The program, aimed at capacity building in the hospitality sector, brought together hotel owners and managerial staff.
Participants received instruction from a faculty comprising national and international experts, covering critical areas of customer service and communication.
Saheel Alaqband, Assistant Director of MSME, Government of India, stated, "This program represents a significant step in MSME capacity building, expanding our focus to include service enterprises alongside manufacturing.”
He mentioned, “We identified substantial room for improvement in the hotel industry through targeted training and are committed to enhancing tourism through improved service quality."
The initiative's success was attributed in part to the support of Tariq Hussain, CEO, Pahalgam Development Authority and President of the Hoteliers Association.
During the closing session, participants shared their experiences and insights gained from the program, highlighting its effectiveness and the importance of continuous professional development in the hospitality industry.
This inaugural program marks a notable development in efforts to enhance the quality of hospitality services in the region, with potential implications for the local tourism sector.
