UP and Jharkhand to work together to promote khadi, KVI Emporium to be launched on Oct 2: UP Khadi Minister

New Delhi, July 5 (KNN) In a bid to promote Khadi and generate employment, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand will work together and share excellent product and technical expertise of both the khadi and village industries established in the states.

Also, Khadi and Village Industries Emporium will be launched on October 2 in Uttar Pradesh, further to boost khadi.

This was said by Satyadev Pachauri, Uttar Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Minister at a high level meeting organized in Uttar Pradesh for the promotion of Khadi in Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand.

President of Jharkhand State Khadi and Village Industries Board, Sanjay Seth was also present during the meeting.

During the meeting, Pachauri gave special emphasis on the production of fine cotton in the state as its production is very low in the state.

Talking about Khadi and Village Industries Emporium, he said that the Emporium will be operated on the ground floor and first floor of the new building built on board headquarters, in which excellent products of Khadi and Village Industries units of the state and other states will be displayed for marketing.

Further a showroom will also be given for the sale of excellent Khadi and Village based products of the Jharkhand state.

Also, to make people self reliant and bring back the old methods of earthen utensils, a Moti Arts Board will soon be established in the state, he added.

For the development of khadi, President of Jharkhand State Khadi and Village Industries Board, Sanjay Seth said that full support will be provided by the Jharkhand board for training of workers working in institutions of Uttar Pradesh for production of high quality muslin.
