UP Budget 2022 aims to set up 10,000 startups in 5 years

Lucknow, May 27 (KNN) Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna presented an annual budget of Rs 5.50 lakh crore in 2021-2022 on Thursday in the Legislative Assembly. Its size went up to Rs 5.66 lakh crore with the presentation of supplementary budgets. Interim budget for 2022-23 was indicated at over Rs 6 lakh crore.

Explaining the roadmap laid by the budget, he said that a total of 100 incubators and 10,000 startups will be established in 5 years.

This is the first budget under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath after being re-elected in March, 2022. 

Presenting the budget, the state FM said, “The economy of the state is improving rapidly. We believe that we will be successful in taking the state's economy to USD 1 trillion.”

A summit organised in 2018 yielded investment proposals of around Rs 4.68 lakh crore, of which implementation of investment proposals of Rs 3 lakh crore is in various stages, the finance minister said.

Under the Chief Minister's Village Industries Employment Scheme, in the year 2022-2023, a target is to provide employment to 16000 people by establishing 800 units is set by the UP government.

It is also targeting to create 4 lakh jobs in the next 5 years under the scheme of Gram Unnati Yojana in the name of Kalyan Singh.

Addressing a press conference, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “This budget is according to the aspirations of 25 crore people of the state as it looks forward to the next five years as per the aspirations of the people of Uttar Pradesh.”  (KNN Bureau)
