UP CM asks officials to ensure labourers vendors & others should not suffer amid COVID-19 curfew

Lucknow, May 5 (KNN) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the officials that labourers, vendors should not suffer in COVID curfew.

While chairing a high-level Covid review meeting in Lucknow on Tuesday, the UP Chief Minister asked officials to ensure that there is enough food supply for labourers, cart-pullers, street vendors and suggested opening a community kitchen to feed them timely amid such a situation.

“The agriculture production commissioner should make necessary efforts in this regard,” he added.

Asking officials to ensure the supply of oxygen to patients under treatment in home isolation, Adityanath asserted, “This system should be implemented effectively in all districts. If a patient's family is trying for cylinder refilling, they should be helped and the entire operation will be supervised by the additional chief secretary, Home.

Officials present in the meeting apprised the chief minister about all necessary efforts which are being made to improve the supply of oxygen across the state.

The UP CM further said that special efforts are being made by Sugarcane Development and Excise departments to generate oxygen in sugar mills and distilleries.

''Supplies are also being provided directly from the MSME units by connecting them to hospitals,” Yogi said.
