UP Election Result: Executive authorities should understand CM’s vision to benefit MSMEs- IIA

Lucknow, Mar 10 (KNN) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision to benefit micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) must be understood by the executive authorities of the State for the sector to grow and explore its full potential, said Ashok Kumar Agarwal, President, Indian Industries Association (IIA).

As Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in Uttar Pradesh Assembly election, CM Yogi’s tenure is likely to be extended for the next five years.

“The public has voted with trust, hence the government must work for the people and give preference to MSME sector as it is the major source of revenue and employment generation,” added Agarwal.

He also pressed on the need for finding different ways to help MSMEs, small businesses and industries in all the segments.

Focusing on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s union budget FY22-23 which aims to boost logistics to benefit industry, Agarwal said this would really help the state of Uttar Pradesh owing to the good relations between the central and state government.

The state of Uttar Pradesh records nearly 90 lakh MSMEs, having the largest number of estimated small businesses with a 14.20 per cent share of 6.33 crore MSMEs in the country, as per the MSME Ministry 2020-21 annual report.

According to government data, Uttar Pradesh has 129 industrial areas and ranks third in the number of industrial parks at 89, extending over a total area of 38,000 acres. (KNN/KT)
