UP govt approves Purchase Policy for MSME for 2014

Lucknow, Sept 26 (KNN)  In a move which will give major boost to the small enterprises of the state, Uttar Pradesh Government has approved the Purchase Policy for MSME for 2014.

Under the policy, all the state government ministries departments/ undertakings shall set an annual goal of minimum 20 per cent of the total annual purchases of the products or services produced or rendered by MSEs. Out of annual requirement of 20 per cent procurement from MSEs, 4 per cent is earmarked for units owned by Schedule Caste /Schedule Tribes.

The state government said that e-procurement will be encouraged in the state, and details about the procurement have to be mandatorily given on the concerned department's website, said an official notification recently.

In tender participating MSEs, quoting price within price band of L1+15 per cent shall also be allowed to supply a portion up to 20 per cent of requirement by bringing down their price to L1 Price where L1 is non-MSEs.

The state government will also set up a toll free number for entrepreneurs to register complaints about such procurement. (KNN/SD)
