UP govt exempts manufacturing of HDPE woven bags used in packing agri products amid lockdown

Lucknow, Mar 30 (KNN) The Uttar Pradesh government has written to all District Collector and other officials concerned to exempt the manufacturing of the HDPE woven bag amid lockdown due to Coronavirus outbreak.

The government in its letter dated March 28, which is being accessed by KNN India, has said that as per the Ministry of Home Affair's (MHA) order number 40-3/2020 DM-1 (1) of the, it has been decided to exempt the manufacturing of plastic bags related to packaging of various agriculture stuffs like seeds and compost.

''Notably, the harvest season of the wheat, Channa, peas, Mustard and pigeon pea has started and one can't deny that if these products failed to get a plastic bag for packaging, it will be destroyed. Other, than agriculture products be it a compost oil, seeds, chemical, and pesticide need a plastic bag for packaging,'' said the government in its letter. 

''In this regard, it has been directed to concerned officials that units as well as workers of the same, engage in such production should be allowed to function amid lockdown due to coronavirus pandemic,'' the letter further read.
