UP govt implements new arrangements to provide power connection to industries

Lucknow, Jun 8 (KNN) In a bid to promote industrial investment in the state, the Uttar Pradesh (UP) government has implemented a new arrangement to provide power connection to the industries, said Power Minister Shrikant Sharma on Monday.

''For encouraging industrial investment, new arrangements are being made to provide power connection to them. After application of a new power connection, an engineer will be deputed as executive to help them overcome difficulties, if any in getting connections," Sharma told reporters.

He further said, if an entrepreneur applies for power connection on "Nivesh Mitra" portal, the department itself will rectify shortcomings in the application and an executive officer will be deployed for every application.

Following the Minister's instructions, Pashchimanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited (PVVNL) has started the proceedings.

Later, the Energy Minister also instructed officials concerned that there should be no negligence in providing electricity connections to the industries.

''This initiative has been taken to promote investment as power connection is essential for every new unit and the move will help them in getting it,'' the Minister avowed.
