“In order to make ODOP products more competitive and suitable for exports, various schemes are being run by the government,” an official statement said.

Linkages around ODOP products are also being created at district level to boost up the exports. The list of activities identified for this include exploring the export potential at the district level, making the products competitive at all levels, providing maximum employment opportunities at the local level with less capital and minimum risk, necessary infrastructure etc.

The Yogi administration had earlier signed agreements with major e-commerce companies, such as Walmart, Amazon, and Flipkart for the marketing of ODOP products. Under the MoU, necessary training is being provided to enable more ODOP entrepreneurs to register on the e-commerce platform.

To keep a check on the ODOP products and to make them more competitive as per the market demands, MoUs have been signed with the Quality Council of India and the Indian Institute of Packaging.

The state government is also likely to open a branch of the Institute of Packaging soon. (KNN Bureau)
