UPSIDA Industrial Areas Face Road Crisis, Entrepreneurs Seek Urgent Repairs
Lucknow, Oct 22 (KNN) Poor road conditions in Greater Noida and Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) industrial areas are disrupting factory operations and posing safety risks to entrepreneurs, workers and commuters, with potholes, loose gravel, dust and waterlogging reported across several industrial sectors.
Potholes And Waterlogging Disrupt Industrial Areas
Affected areas include Ecotech 1, Surajpur Sites B and C, Site 5 and Ecotech 3, where some potholes are reportedly up to 1.5 feet deep.
Rainfall has worsened conditions, leaving several stretches muddy and waterlogged, while loose gravel increases the risk of accidents involving two-wheelers.
Delayed Repairs Affect Movement Of Goods
Entrepreneurs said road construction and repair proposals had been approved several times, but work was yet to begin, affecting the movement of raw materials and finished goods.
“Even light rainfall leads to waterlogging. Water enters factories in the H, J and I blocks. The drains have not been cleaned even after the rainfall,” said Rajesh Khanna, an entrepreneur at UPSIDA's Site 5.
Poor Roads Raise Transport And Safety Concerns
Sanjay Batra, general secretary, Laghu Udyog Bharati, said the roads had deteriorated before the monsoon and developed large potholes, making transport operators reluctant to move goods to and from factories.
Entrepreneurs Seek Urgent Repairs And Drainage Maintenance
Entrepreneurs have called for urgent road repairs and drainage maintenance to improve industrial connectivity, ensure road safety and minimise disruptions to business activities.
