UPSIDC working on new development rules for industrial areas

UPSIDC is currently in the process of finalizing development regulations for its Industrial Development Areas to ensure rapid and balanced industrial growth of the state.
“UPSIDA is working for industrial development of its notified IDA spread all in the state of UP,” Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC) said in a notification.
“New Areas at the strategic locations of prestigious projects of State Government such Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, National Investment & Manufacturing Zone, Theme Parks and Projects along proposed Agra-Lucknow Expressway are being identified as Industrial Development Areas (IDA) of UPSIDA,” added UPSIDC.
In this context, UPSIDC wants to rope in private sector for preparation of development regulations of UPSIDA catering to the industrial development needs of its IDAs on the basis of Master Planning.
UPSIDC has developed 159 Industrial Areas (including Uttarakhand) and 23 Residential Areas encompassing 41948 acres of land with a wide range of infrastructure facilities. UPSIDC has housed more than 8163 units in various industrial areas which have provided direct employment to 2, 00,000 persons. These units involve a capital outlay of over Rs. 15,000 crores. One of the prime objectives of UPSIDC is to develop industrial areas and provide primary infrastructure. (KNN/SD)
