New Delhi, Nov 22 (KNN)  In an effort to provide a boost to power services in the state, the Uttarakhand government has proposed to improve transportation facilities in power station areas.

National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited (NHPC) Limited has plans to strengthen the roadways by building and maintaining the existing roads leading to its plants.

In this context, the state government has invited bids from different corporations for providing slope protection measures from MAT road Rd 85 onwards to TRT road for 235 m length at power house of Dhauliganga power station.

NHCP is a government enterprise with an objective to promote and organise integrated and efficient development of power in all aspects.  It has grown to become one of the largest organisations in the field of hydro power development in the country.

State-run NHPC has lost as many as 550 million units in generation as its Dhauliganga hydel project is still undergoing repairs following flash floods in June.  (KNN/ST)
