Vastra 2014 begins in Jaipur on Oct-29

Jaipur, Oct 27 (KNN)  To showcase the best and latest in textiles from fibre to fashion, be it technology or products, the international textile and apparel fair - Vastra-2014 will be held here from October-29  to 31.

Having started in 2012, the third edition of Vastra is organised by Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation Limited (RIICO) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

The fair is “designed to highlight business opportunities and provide opportunities for launching new products, exploring avenues for new business relations, JVs, strategic alliances and partnerships worldwide as also new locations for setting up businesses in India. It also provides a platform for disseminating technology, interaction with experts and R&D Labs for solution in technology and latest trends,” according to official data.

VASTRA 2014 is expected to create a new benchmark in showcasing the best and latest in textiles and presenting enhanced and diversified business opportunities for all stakeholders.

Live demonstration of traditional textile crafts, business fashion shows, concurrent conferences, state pavilions and networking events are among the highlights of VASTRA.
Indian Textile Industry is one of the prominent industrial sectors in the country, contributing about 14 per cent to industrial production, 4 per cent to the GDP and 11 per cent to country's export earnings.

A upward looking economy, growing young population, rising household income levels, growth of organized retail sector, increasing passion for branded and lifestyle products, growth of semi urban and rural markets, increasing working female population etc. have been propelling the Indian Textile market and offering new opportunities.

VASTRA-2012 saw presence of 178 exhibitors covering the entire textile domain, 361 international buyers from across the globe and 36 Indian buying houses 4578 structured B2B meets which generated a whopping USD 61.90 million worth of business.

On the other hand VASTRA-2013 saw the participation of 202 exhibitors, 421 foreign buyers and 43 Indian buying houses. It had 5336 structured B2B meetings, which generated business worth USD 69.30 million.  (KNN/ES)
