W Bengal organises global business summit

Kolkata, Dec 9 (KNN) As an initiative to rejuvenate the industrial scenario in the state, the Government of West Bengal is organising a global summit, scheduled to be held here on January 7 and 8, 2015.
The summit has a vision to seek partnership with the business community, investors and intellectual capital from outside the state and the country to invest in a range of areas that will trigger future growth and change in the years ahead.
“Bengal Global Business Summit 2015 will bring to the fore the readiness of the State in terms of taking on challenges and meeting aspirations. Our vision for this year's business summit is to create a blueprint that will explore new possibilities of creating a resurgent Bengal,” an official statement said.
It will help the state grow to new heights through implementation of technology, policies, practice and strategic investment, it added.
The event will focus on sectors like urban infrastructure and housing, IT software and hardware, food processing, horticulture and floriculture, MSME and textiles, health care, education and skills, manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, hospitality and tourism and the business of entertainment and financial services.
National and international entrepreneurs of stature will address and share their thoughts and experiences at the plenary session during the two day event.
The summit will also include sectoral breakaway sessions with the participation of leading industrialists from each sector. In addition, there will be B2B and G2B interactions and opportunity for expositions, exhibition and presentations from overseas and national investors.
The global event will be a platform to understand the potential of West Bengal in various sectors and it will also create opportunities to interact with policy makers, industry leaders, and top level government officials, it said. (KNN/ST)
