Kolkata, Feb 4 (KNN) Federation of Small and Medium Industries (FOSMI) and MSME-DI, Kolkata are jointly organising a state level vendor development programme on February 11, 2015 in West Bengal.

The one day programme will focus on current thrust of Government of India with regard to Public Procurement Policy for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) - Government Order 2012, said a release.

PPP will become mandatory from April 1, 2015 requiring 20 per cent of the total procurement by the ministries, government departments, PSUs, etc. to be done from the MSE sector. Therefore, getting registered with these organizations would be very important.

Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd (GRSE) and Metro Railways are will be participating in the programme. The quantum of purchase is huge for both the organisations.

FOSMI is represented on various other important committees and boards of the Central and state government. The federation provides a platform and also acts as a bridge to focus and hightlight problems of its members to concerned authorities for redreassal which is often difficult. (KNN/ST)
