Kolkata, Sept 10 (KNN)  In order to boost the MSME sector in the state, the West Bengal government has decided to set up a Brand Bengal Marketing Corporation for effective marketing of various products by the MSMEs.

The WB Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that the corporation would bring marketing of all the companies of the MSME sector under one roof for better market linkage, benefitting both artisans and workers in the sector.

The corporation will take the help of experts from varied fields to promote its activities.

"At present, there are different corporations selling different products, which result in a co-ordination gap.  So we have decided to set up a holding company. We will seek opinions of experts from different fields to promote the company," said Banerjee.

Furthermore, Banerjee also announced the government's decision to set up "Brihad Krishak Bajar", mega markets for farmer, in all 18 districts of the state at a total cost of Rs 150 crore.

This would help farmers to come out of the clutches of middlemen, said the WB CM.

The chief minister also announced the government’s decision to set up “Kanyashree project” at the cost of Rs 492 crore to benefit the girl child.

Further, to encourage young talent, the CM said a Centre for Human Excellence and tele-studio under Tele Academy will be set up at Baruipur.  (KNN/SD)
