Kolkata, Sep 15 (KNN) Stating that industry and agriculture can coexist, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that the State has 1000 acres of land in Goaltore ready and any investor – whether it is Tata or BMW – is welcome to set up an automobile manufacturing unit there.

She was speaking at Singur Diwas rally. The Chief Minister said had procedures been followed and land not been taken forcibly, Tatas could have set up industry in Bengal.

“We have a land bank and a land use policy. We can give 1,000 acres in Goaltore in West Midnapore. We also have land in Panagarh and Howrah. Our message is clear. We want more IT and manufacturing industries in Bengal,” she added.

Mamata Banerjee made it clear that she was not against industry and mentioned that Bengal has been organising Bengal Global Business Summit for the last few years.
