Kolkata, Jan 24 (KNN)  To address the communication needs in rural West Bengal, the state government is keen to develop and implement a communication strategy in the Gram Panchayat areas.

“The Panchayats and Rural Development Department, Government of West Bengal, has received a credit equivalent to USD 200 million from the International Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of the Institutional Strengthening of Gram Panchayats Project (ISGPP) in West Bengal, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract for “Hiring of services for development and implementation of communication strategy for Gram Panchayat areas,” said an official notification.

In this context, the Department seeks bids from consultant firms to review existing communication strategy and IEC materials prepared so far under ISGP Project and prepare a revised action plan towards the successful achievement of project communication outcomes, with focus on citizens.

The consultant firm would also have to manage implementation of the agreed communication strategy (produce additional and new creative communication materials and plan an appropriate dissemination strategy and plan for roll out of the communication packages for Gram Panchayat areas.

It would also design suitable concurrent systems for monitoring the effectiveness of the communication campaign with appropriate citizens’ feedback system.

Significantly, the firm should be well conversant with the communication needs in rural West Bengal.  (KNN/ES)
