Weavers of Jharkhand will be reimbursed 90% of cost of buying looms: Smriti Irani at Momentum Jharkhand

Ranchi, Feb 16 (KNN) Jharkhand has bagged several investment promises from top industrialists and support assurances from the Government during the day one of Momentum Jharkhand, the states maiden Global Investors’ Summit.

The Summit was inaugurated by ace Cricketer MS Dhoni and saw the presence of Union Ministers such as Arun Jaitley, Venkaiah Naidu, Smriti Irani, Piyush Goyal etc.

Industry leaders such as Ratan Tata, Naveen Jindal, Kumar Mangalam Birla etc were all present at the event.

On the first day, Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani promised all support to the weavers.

She said, “Textile Ministry will support the weavers of Jharkhand as they will be reimbursed 90% of cost of buying looms."

Irani has predicted exponential growth of the state.

Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) which has so far invested Rs 3,000 crore in the state has promised to invest Rs 20,000 crore in Jharkhand within a few years.

Essar is planning to set up a BPO facility with a sitting capacity of 2,000 here, and hopes to obtain coal linkages for its 1,200 MW thermal power plant at Tori in Jharkhand, the company’s chairman Shashi Ruia today said.

There were many more proposals from the different Ministries and Industrialists. (KNN Bureau)
