“In future, we plan to generate one crore employment each for the small scale industry (SSI) and textile industries,” said the Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamta Banerjee at the inauguration of Synergy MSME 2013 here.

Further, she said that the state government has already generated more than two lakh job opportunities through the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) during the last two years.

The entire world was witnessing an economic downturn but some countries have been saved because of MSME sector. The state will have a new procurement policy intended to support the sector to sell their products to the government sector, she said.

Currently, there is no problem of land or power in the state.  However, the government will provide more subsidies to investors from backward areas, as it wants SSI to develop in such districts.
