Kolkata, Aug 19 (KNN) With the aim to seek investment proposals for different projects in the state, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is expected to visit Spain from September 15-20, 2023.

The CM’s visit will come ahead of the Bengal Global Business Summit for which preparations have already started, officials said.

As per reports, delegation led by West Bengal Chief Secretary Harikrishna Dwivedi and other senior government officials may also join the CM.

“The chief minister is likely to meet the heads of leading companies and industrialists in Spain. Preliminary talks have begun for those meetings,” a senior official said.

The official added that the chief minister’s aim is to try to attract foreign investment for Bengal’s manufacturing sector and to create employment opportunities.

According to the state government, it received investment proposals to the tune of Rs 3.42 lakh crore during the two-day Bengal Global Business Summit last year.  (KNN Bureau)
